What Is A Probate Estate?
A PROBATE ESTATE is all of the property of someone who has died that is going to be managed by a personal representative of the person that died.
The value of the PROBATE ESTATE is usually used as the value of the Estate for Estate Tax purposes.
If the person who died left a Last Will and Testament the personal representative is known as an Executor. If the person who died DID NOT leave a Will, the Personal Representative is known by that term, but can be and is often referred to as the Administrator of the estate.
