Our Story
While working for the legal aid program in Houston, Texas, Terry Hamilton prepared many estate plans for his clients. He only realized how much work was involved in being a personal representative for an estate when he had to do it for his family. Closing out the estate took time. It was also complicated because he was having to travel an hour just to get to where his parents had lived. Several of his friends were having to do the same work for their families. They soon realized how difficult it was balancing the time needed to act as a representative of their loved ones’ estate with the time needed for their jobs and families. His friend, Sharon, suggested he needed to hire someone to do the work for him. Terry couldn’t find anyone who did that kind of work. This seemed like a need that was not being met by any other business. There is a lot to be done between the time someone passes away and their will is probated. There is even more to be done after their will is probated. Based on their experience in doing that work for himself, Terry founded Quartet Estate Services to help other people save time and reduce stress by doing that work for them.
